Measuring the Height of a Steeple

We constructed a protractor-inspired device that would allow us to apply trigonometric techniques in order to calculate the height of our school's steeple.

The project introduced us to rapid prototyping and simplifying the world around us using mathematics.

This research was undertaken as part of Montgomery Blair High School's Steeple Height Measurement Project in fall 2005.
